 Original HP ink is best for your HP printerSep 06, 2010
I own a PC repair business, and I can tell you, one thing that will eventually destroy your printer is using refills. The ink is almost always lesser quality, and will eventually gum up the printer. Using HP ink, the color tones are better, pictures and documents last longer and you get more prints. Refills usually don't give as many prints as an original cartridge, due to the fact the ink is usually thinned out. In the long run you are not really saving any money using a refill, especially if it kills the printer. Always use brand ink for whatever printer you have. Buying from Amazon, the ink I get is always new in package, never had a problem yet!

I think the ink cartridges are over priced in general, but not the fault of Amazon. I got what I asked for quickly and at a lower price than local retail outlets.

I've owned an HP OfficeJet K80 and an HP Photosmart C7280 and have been extremely disappointed by the experience in ink cartridge value despite using only HP cartridges. The latest set seemed to evaporate after about 5-6 (4x6) color prints. There was not a single month during which we did not receive an annoying low ink warning, despite default print settings set to "black cartridge only", (not grayscale using color). I'm wondering if there were a leak in the cartridges that allowed the volatile solvents to evaporate. I'm giving a competing brand a chance, and may update this review.

I've typically bought these cartridges direct from HP in the past, but this time did some searching around to find better pricing. Essentially I was able to get the same product for about half the price HP charges. So far all is working as expected.
